Gunma Prefecture Help Card – Image: publicity
The Help Cards (Help Card or ヘルプカード) are documents used to facilitate the request for help or assistance from people who have some type of disability. They are especially useful for identifying people with disabilities that are not immediately noticeable, such as hearing, internal or intellectual impairments, and who may be experiencing difficulties.
The Help Card may contain emergency contact information, support information, names of medical institutions, and more.
Help Mark – Image: disclosure
The Help Mark (ヘルプマーク) was originally created by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in 2012 and later added to JIS Z8210 (as a guidance symbol) on July 20, 2017.
This symbol makes it easier for people with hidden disabilities to be recognized and receive help or support.
When you see people using this symbol, be considerate and helpful.
